Unperceived existence

"If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"

Scientifically, No. Sound is the sensation excited in the ear when the air or other medium is set in motion. Sound is vibration, transmitted to our senses through the mechanism of the ear, and recognized as sound only at our nerve centers. The falling of the tree or any other disturbance will produce vibration of the air. If there be no ears to hear, there will be no sound.

Philosophically though... If one never knows true love is really ever REALLY happy?

Is love only TRUE when it is TRUE LOVE? Is Happiness really Happiness when it is TRUE HAPPINESS?

How many people live and die never to experience true love or true happiness? I bet if they were in the forest, lots of them would have heard the tree fall.

The sad thing is though, once you have tasted it... nothing else is good enough. If you lose it you will forever be chasing it like a crack fiend looking for that high.

Would you rather never have experienced it and settle in your mediocrity?

Two monks were arguing about the temple flag waving in the wind. One said, "The flag moves." The other said, "The wind moves." They argued back and forth but could not agree.
The Sixth Ancestor said, "Gentlemen! It is not the wind that moves; it is not the flag that moves; it is your mind that moves." The two monks were struck with awe."
